Supplier Visibility and Contact Information Expectations:

General Motors is committed to achieving excellence in supply chain management. We have identified the need to improve upstream supply chain visibility to help us manage our continuity of supply more effectively. Improved supply chain visibility will allow us to proactively assess our risk exposure and to react and recover quickly when disruptive events occur around the globe.

Critical to the success of this effort is for GM to gather sub-tier supply chain data. Our method to collect this information is in our SupplyMap application. As stated in GM's global RFQ and global GM1700, all Tier 1 supplier manufacturing sites must submit supply chain visibility information in the SupplyMap application accessible through GM SupplyPower. The information requested in SupplyMap is mandatory per GM SOR and RFQ letter. Suppliers are required to provide SupplyMap information starting at Component Readiness Valve 3 (CRV3)/CRV GO or Production Tooling Kickoff. SupplyMap requirement must be completed by Component Readiness Valve 6 (CRV6) or PPAP/SORP Readiness. (Global RFQ Letters sent prior to 2/1/2023 will require suppliers to submit tiered data by DELFOR (Component Readiness Valve Training). Submissions are to include Tier 2 to Tier n suppliers, in other words, the entire value chain (minerals to parts). Submissions must be re-submitted whenever sub-tier suppliers change or at a minimum annually.

It is also critical that GM has up to date contact information for every current active Tier-1 supplier manufacturing and ship location. This information is requested of each direct material manufacturing and ship from DUNS on contract. Contact information is securely housed in our Supplier Contact Database (SCDB).

Supply chain visibility and supplier contact data are classified GM confidential and will only be used for the purposes mentioned here.
