Cybersecurity Awareness Month

This is a test.

It's that time of year again, where many of us are looking forward to enjoying the holidays and some well-deserved vacation time. It's also a great time to renew and level-up our passwords. When doing so, make sure to create a password that is both complex and east to remember.

Here are some password protection guidelines to help you create strong passwords and protect precious information.

• Users must protect their credentials (e.g., passwords) and must not share them with others
• Create a password that is a minimum of 8 characters long and includes 3 of the 4 categories: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols/special characters (e.g., @#$%!)
• Do not have browsers or applications save the password for future use
• Do not reuse passwords across various account types
• Do not use your business/work ID & password for home/person use
• Never store passwords in an unencrypted file (e.g., plain text) or write them down
• If your account is compromised (if you think your password has been hacked), you should immediately change your password and report the issue to the administrator at your organization
