GM Dangerous Goods Terms and Conditions
It is the responsibility of the supplier of the material(s) to classify the content of the shipment and to properly pack, package, label and mark the goods in accordance with all applicable dangerous goods and hazardous materials laws before tendering to the provider.
The supplier will not release hazardous materials for transport unless shipping papers, packaging, marking, labeling, permits and placarding are in conformance with the appropriate governing regulations.
Prior to the first shipment is made to GM, it is the supplier's responsibility (but not limited to) to provide at a minimum, the Safety Data Sheet with the associated GM part numbers, the Emergency Response Guide Number, and in the case of Brazil, a copy of Ficha de Emergência and FISPQ (Ficha de Segurança de Produtos Quìmios) as per local regulation format's requirements (ABNT-NBR).
These documents must be submitted to sds.dgt@gm.com. In the case of pyrotechnics, additional information must be submitted to sds.dgt@gm.com; BAM certification, CE documentation and UN 6 Bonfire test results if the part is shipped as Class 9 (such as airbag or seatbelt with pre-tensioner).
If shipping commodities normally considered dangerous are shipped as non-hazardous, then a shipping declaration must be submitted.
